Cellulolytic activity of fungi decreased with increase in slat concentration of the medium. Some fungi, however, exhibited increasing activity with increasing salt concentration. Highest enzyme activity was recorded in Chaetomium globosum and Aspergillus terreus at zero and 6% salt levels respectively. Lowest cellulolytic activity was observed at zero and 6% salt levels in Aspergillus niveus and Scopulariopsis brevicaulis respectively. |
