In S. Scripta, collected from Munampam, southwest coast of India, the slope of the larger size group ( > 16.2 mm length) in the relationship between height (H) depth (D)/dry flesh weight (W)/shell weight(S) and length (L) was higher than that of the lower size group ( < 16.2 mm L) while in W/S-H relationship, the reverse trend was observed. The allometric relationship between D and H remained the same for both the size groups. The relativistic mechanisms, determining the various relationships are discussed. |
