Eggs and larvae of Anadontostoma chacunda are described. Of the larvae (2.8-15 mm) described those up to 5 mm are grown in the laboratory from hatching, and the rest collected from the plankton. Occurrence of the early stages in the Vellar Estuary, Tamil Nadu, India commences in January (sal. 29°/oo) and attains a peak in March-April (sal. 33-35°/oo). |
