Protein, glyco and lipoproteins and isozyme (lactate dehydrogenase, alkaline phosphatase and esterases) patterns, studied using 7 and 1/2% polyacrylamide gel electrophoreis, show changes in R. harrisii during larval development (1st zoea to• 1st crab). Variations in protein, glyco and lipoprotein patterns appear to be related to protein synthesis, cellular differentiation and morphogenesis during ontogeny. The results show that isozyme pattern during larval development is characteristic for each stage during differentiation. Changes in isozyme patterns observed reflect changes in cell components as well as rates of synthesis of isozymes in them relate to changes in gene expression. |
