Maximum amylase activity was found in the midgut gland whereas it decreased in the foregut and hindgut parts. In both the species the optimum pH for enzyme activity was little less than 7 while optimum temperature was between 32°C and 38°C. Maximum activity of this enzyme was found when the substrate concentration was between 3 and 3.5% in Parapenaeopsis hardwickii and 2.5 and 3% in P. Stylifera. |
