Concentrations of Cu, Fe, Mn, Zn, Co and Ni, measured both in dissolved and particulate forms at 5 stations in the Laccadive Sea, were within the range reported for other areas of the world ocean. Only one station away from the islands, showed somewhat higher values for most of the metals. Dissolved Cu showed a decrease with depth. Dissolved Fe and Mn, on the other hand, showed a marked increase at a depth of 500 m. |
