A total of 16 spawnings in 182 days has been observed in a single pair of P. scabriuscula kept in the laboratory aquarium. Cannibalistic nature of the female feeding on its own zoeae is probably due to its appetite and lack of food since it feeds voraciously after mating and after spawning. |
