Particulate matter from the Cochin backwaters was analysed at close network of stations for Fe, Mn, Cu and Zn. Significant concentrations of Fe, Mn and Cu were found at the river mouth. These concentrations were higher than the values reported for similar environments in other regions of the country, which might be partly due to the domestic and industrial pollution in the area. |
