Thirty-four sediment samples, collected from the Arabian Sea, were analysed for their composition of organic matter. The study revealed high concentrations from the continental slope, whereas continental shelf samples were characterized by low contents of organic carbon, total nitrogen and carbohydrates. Direct relationship was observed between organic carbon-nitrogen and organic carbon-carbohydrate. |
