Distribution of iron and its relationship with manganese in the bottom sediments of the eastern part of Bay of Bengal, collected during a cruise on Anton Brunn in 1963, are discussed. The northern part shows relatively higher values of iron in comparison to southern part. Higher concentration is attributed to the nearness of the continental source. |
