While studying the bio-ecology of the fauna in the industrially and domestically polluted waters of the Visakhapatnam Harbour, large numbers of the polychaete worm C capitata, which has been reported earlier by several workers as an indicator species of polluted waters in the cold and temperate seas, have been observed. The occurrence of the worm from the tropical waters on the Indian coast and the Indian Ocean area is reported for the first time. |
