Fluorescent trace tests were carried out in the Tuticorin Harbour area to study the direction of sediment transport. Both offshore and beach experiments carried out during January 1972 indicated a southerly movement of tracer sand, particularly towards SSW-SW-WSW, possibly caused by wind and current prevailing during the period of experiments. |
