Summary, etc. The journal literature in the field of library and information science has grown exponentially. A few countries publish agood number of library and information science journals and India is also in the race. The study researches the growth anddevelopment of library and information science journals globally with special reference to India. It has been found thatpublication of LIS journals gained momentum from third quarter of 20th century. Compared to global scenario, the visibilitystatus of Indian LIS journals is not promising.
