Summary, etc. A CFD (Computational fluid dynamics) model for predicting the performance of an immobilized-titanium dioxide based annular photocatalytic reactor has been developed. The CFD model is based on the intrinsic kinetic parameters determined experimentally in a perfectly mixed batch reactor. Experiments are also performed using an actual immobilized-titanium dioxide based annular photocatalytic reactor to obtain the experimental results. The modeling predictions are compared with the experimental results for validation of the CFD model. The modeling predictions agree closely with the experimental data. It is observed that CFD could become a valuable tool to understand and improve the photocatalytic systems.
