Summary, etc. <span style="&quot;font-size: 11.0pt;" lang="&quot;EN-US&quot;">In the present paper, the optical and structural parameters of pure and Dy doped zinc oxide thin films on quartz glass substrate using the dopant of Dy in various doping molar concentrations (0.2 and 0.5 M) with different percentages ranging from 0% to 100% have been studied. All the produced thin films have been obtained by using the spin coating method and crystallized at the annealing temperature of 1000 <span style="&quot;font-size: 11.0pt;" lang="&quot;EN-US&quot;">°<span style="&quot;font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: &quot;;" lang="&quot;EN-US&quot;">C for the duration of 6 h. The X-ray Diffraction (XRD) spectra have been used to see the formation of crystal phases. These show that both ZnO and Dy<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> crystal phases stay together within the doped thin film matrices. The Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and UV-Vis absorption spectra have also been taken to describe the pure and doped zinc oxide film structures together with various optical properties such as energy band gap and refractive index.</span></span></span>
