Description Sixteen cows treated for retained fetal membranes (RFM) following parturition were selected at 35-50 days postpartum and randomly and equally divided into two groups (Group I and II). All cows were orally supplemented daily with mineral mixture continuously for 15 days. Group I cows were treated with ovsynch protocol between 50th and 65th days post-partum. Oestrus response following ovsynch treatment in Group I cows was 100 percent, whereas in group II (control), it was 62.50 percent. The mean interval to onset of induced oestrus in group I and II was 49.04±3.17 hours and 30.50±4.04 days respectively. The mean duration of induced oestrus was 29.38±0.74 and
28.35±0.69 hours in group I and II respectively. The lowest percentage of intense oestrus intensity was observed in group II (12.50 percent). The higher percentage of intermediate intensity was noted in group I (37.50 percent). The percentage of ovulatory response was 100.00 and 50.00 percent in group I and II, respectively. The first service,
second service and overall conception rates were 25.00, 50.00 and 75.00 and 37.50, 25.00 and 50.00 percent in group I and II, respectively. It was concluded that mineral supplementation and ovsynch protocol improved conception rate in RFM affected cows.
