Description |
Metal complexes had been synthesized from the Schiff bases of 2, 6-diaminopyridine using Cu(II), Co(II) and Mn(II) by two step protocol. The characterization of ligands and their metal complexes was done by 1H NMR, FT-IR, Mass spectrometry, CHN analysis and their physical characterization such as molar conductance, colour and melting point. The synthesized compounds were further screened for their antifungal potential against various phytopathogenic fungi viz. Puccinia triticinia, Bipolaris sorokiniana and Puccinia striiformis tritici by using spore germination inhibition technique in comparison with Propiconazole (Tilt 25EC) as a standard to reveal the potency of synthesized compounds.. It was found that metal complexes are more promising antifungal agents as compared to synthesized Schiff base ligands. |
