Description Seven pigs each of traditionally reared indigenous variety and intensively fed Large White Yorkshire breed were studied to observe the production trends, comparative economics of pork production and carcass characteristics. Though, exotic pigs generated a higher total income indigenous pigs recorded higher returns based on percent expenditure on feeding. Indigenous pigs revealed a lower dressing percentage, lower loin eye area, higher percentage of stomach and intestines with contents and higher but statistically non-significant back fat thickness and shear values.
