Description |
Total 58 cows with cystic ovarian disorder (COD) were investigated for their clinical signs, rectal and sonographic details of ovaries and plasma progesterone profile. Sonography provided more proximate information on ovaries than rectal manual information on cystic dynamics. Plasma progesterone profile suggests COD in cows as varing combinations of follicular and luteal type of cysts. Postaglandin was non effective in the treatment of follicular type of cysts while implant CIDR had shown very poor response in the treatment of luteal type of cysts. hCG was found most effective in the treatment of follicular type of cyst and prostaglandin was found most effective in the luteal type of cysts.
