Description Climate has a vital role on biosphere of the earth. The long-range climate change has been observed worldwide and also the changes in food productivity of individual crop. The weather data for the period of 1982 – 2010 considered for the study to know the impact of climate change on groundnut and ragi crop productivity at Hiriyur and Chintamani location respectively. The variability noticed in the mean of three decades with respect to maximum temperature and evaporation at Hiriyur and relative humidity, sunshine at Chintamani location. The 2nd decade (1992-2001) showed more variation in the maximum temperature. The rainfall showed declining trend and the minimum temperature showed the increasing trend at both locations. The minimum temperature trend is found to be significant at Hiriyur. The maximum temperature with declining and sunshine hrs with increasing found to be significant at Chintamani. The mean yearly rainfall at Hiriyur showed the cyclic pattern and slightly decreasing pattern at Chintamani. The PCA in regression used to know the impact of climate changes on crop productivity. The model was found to be significant for both crops with the R2 value 54.10% and 36.60% for groundnut and ragi respectively. It is evident from the finding that the expected mean yield for groundnut at Hiriyur found to 866 to 969 kg/ha with 12% variability in productivity for a given maximum interval of climatic factors under study. The expected mean yield for ragi at Chintamani found to 1383 to 1186 kg/ha with14% variability in productivity under the changing scenario.
