Description |
Choke is a comon occurrence in cattle due to its feeding habits. One year old heifer with regurgitation of material through mouth was presented. The animal had bloat, ptyalism and was restless. Palpation of neck revealed a mass in the cervical oesophagus and attempts to pass stomach tube were not successful. Endoscopic examination through the mouth revealed smooth surfaced foreign body. The foreign body was removed with continuous insufflations of air through endoscopy along with physical manipulation from exterior. The foreign body was confirmed to be trichobezoar on bisection of the same. Successful removal of the oesophageal trichobezoar by endoscopy along with physical manipulation from exterior is placed on record. |
