A case of double intussusception at ileo-caecal and caeco-colic junction and its surgical management in a Chippiparai pup is reported. A 7- month-old female Chippiparai pup was reported with a history of anorexia, vomiting, jelly like faeces with haematochezia, tenesmus and weight loss since one week. The pup was dull and evinced pain upon abdominal palpation and a firm sausage shaped mass was palpable in the anterior abdomen. The clinical observations and physical examination findings were suggestive of intussusception, which was later confirmed on plain radiography revealing gas filled intestinal loops. |
