Description |
Intectious bursal disease (IBD) was first reported from Gumboro, USA in chicken by Cosgrove (1952), and in India by Mohanty et al., (1971). Outbreaks of IBD were reported in Namakkal, a major poultry belt of Tamil Nadu since 1988 (Purushothaman et al., 1988; Reddy, 1994). This experimental study was carried out to assess the progressive haematological and serum biochemical changes induced by the infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) in chicken.
