The dietary calcium of 3.0 and 3.3 per cent was not found to have any effect on egg shell thickness in Japanese quail breeders either in combination with available phosphorus or individually. At the lower level of 0.35 per cent, dietary available phosphorus content resulted in numerically lower shell thickness and higher level of 0.45 per cent resulted in higher egg shell thickness.
