Contaf plus and Fuji one in Adoni Territory Kurnool District of Andhra Pradesh"
by the case firm WS Rallies India Limited was carried out with the following
objectives.

In Kumool District Adoni is the main area for cultivating different crops likes
Chilli, Cotton, Paddy, Onion, and Bengal gram and Tomato etc. where the usage of
all the above mentioned brands is more. Simple random sampling method was
adopted in selecting four farmers and two dealers each in three villages of four
different mandals in Adoni territory.
Interview schedules were prepared separately for the farmers and dealers based
on the objectives of the study. The primary data from dealers and the information from
the respondents were gathered by personal interview method. Primary data for the
study included the turnover, share of Rallis, product lines, credit facility, customer
loyalty , supply of products, brand awareness, common products dealt, experience in
pesticide business and problems in retaining were collected from the sample dealers.
Averages and percentages were used for analysis of the data.
It was observed that out of forty eight respondents, twenty one were using
Asataf mainly on Bengal gram and fifteen members were using Startheen of Shaw
Wallace Company and eight respondents were using Tamaron Gold of Bayer and four
members were using other products. Thirty seven respondents were using Contaf on
Paddy for the control of Sheath blight and five farmers were using Xylo of Symbiosis
and three respondents were using Mass of NACL and three were using other than these
products. Out of forty eight respondents forty five were using Contaf Plus on Chillies

Out of forty eight respondents twenty one respondents i.e. forty four were
using Asataf on the Bengal gram due to the following reasons.
1. Quality of the produce (86%).
2. Excellent control of pest (71 %)
3. Dealers advise (73%)
Majority of the respondents i.e. eighty eight percent were influenced by
the dealers. Posters and leaflets were the source of information for sixty five per
cent of the respondents. Method and result demonstrations were effective for
fifty eight per cent of the respondents.
Brand image, customer loyalty and the promotional activities taken up for
these products has improved the market share of the Rallis Company. Timely
supply of the products and credit facility provided has motivated the dealers to
keep the products of Rallis India Ltd.
Learning while doing and seeing is believing is the principle adopted by
most of the farmers, more number of demonstrations both Method, Result and
Personal Contact methods made significant impact on the buying behaviour of
the respondents,
The percentage of farmers using Asataf on Bengal Gram can be increased
by conducting more number of method demonstrations or result demonstrations
in potential villages under Bengal Gram cultivation of Adoni territory, Kurnool
District.
The source of information about the Asataf to the farmers was through
leaflets, posters and jeep campaigns and dealers of the locality. Therefore it is
suggested that the dealers by offering gifts, conducting tours and extending
credit facilities etc. in order to promote their products which may increase its
market share.
