Description A survey was conducted to determine the seroprevalence of brucellosis, infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) and gastrointestinal helminthosis in Dausa, Bikaner and Jaisalmer in cattle. Prevalence of haemoprotozoan diseases was also determined in Bikaner and Jaisalmer only. A total of 200 cattle were screened.
An overall seroprevalence of brucellosis was found to be 14.5, 6 and 19 per cent with, RBPT, STAT and A-B ELISA respectively
An overall seroprevalence of IBR was found to be 7.5 per cent by avidin-biotin ELISA.
Screening of 200 faecal samples revealed overall prevalence of gastrointestinal helminthosis as 13 per cent. Only the eggs of Strongyle spp. were observed. Overall range of eggs per gram of faeces was 200-1000.
An overall prevalence of haemoprotozoan diseases was found to be 6 per cent by thin blood smear examination.
