An epidemiological study was conducted to determine the prevalence of brucellosis , infectious bovine rhinotracheitis and gastrointestinal helminthosis of buffaloes in and around Bikaner. A total of 100 buffaloes were screened, an overall seroprevalence of brucellosis was 13 per cent by I ELISA and 9 per cent by RBPT. 4-6 years age group of animals were showed highest seroprevalence. An overall seroprevalence of IBR was 17 per cent by A-B ELISA with a highest prevalence in age group 4-6 year. Decreasing tendency of IBR occurred with advancement of age. Screening of 100 faecal samples of buffaloes revealed overall prevalence of 17 per cent of gastrointestinal helminthosis. The eggs of Strongyle type and Stronyloides spp. were observed. Overall range of eggs per gramme of faeces was 200-1400 with an average EPG of 776.47 ± 86.88. Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bikaner - 334001 |
