Description ABSTRACT

The present study “Market share, Sale promotional activities and customer behaviuor of insecticide use in Cotton crop in Amravati district of Maharashtra with special reference to Insecticide India Limited company.” Was undertaken with a view to analyze popularity of Insecticide India Ltd. The study was conducted to find out following objective:-
• To analyze the market share and market potential of insecticide use in Cotton crop in the study area.
• To study the customer behavior in relation to use of insecticide in Cotton crop.
• To know the sale promotional activity adopted by the company in the study area.
• ‘SWOT’ Analysis of the company.

Done by Insecticide India Ltd. in the assigned places for achieving these objectives 60 Cotton growers farmer out of 6 farmer from each village in four block (Chandur bazar, Achalpur, Daryapur and Anjangaon surji) of Amravati district in the Maharashtra.

The important conclusions were drawn from study.
 In the study area four major players (company) i.e. Syngenta, Buyer, Dupond and Insecticide India Ltd. were functioning to supply insecticide.
 The highest total sale value of Syngenta company (Rs. 2068360), was found which account 28 percent, market share followed by Buyer (Rs. 1493220). Dupond (Rs. 925470) and Insecticide India ltd. (Rs. 583440).
 The Insecticide India ltd. Company was cover only 8 per cent market share which was less than the other company in the Chandur bazar block of Amravati district.
 In Achalpur and Daryapur block of Amravati district, the same pattern of market share was observed, while in the case of Anjangaon surji block 3rd position was occupies by the Insecticide India Limited company
 Data shows that ranking among the selected company in Amravati district.The Syngenta company occupies 1st rank, which having sales the insecticide for an account of 90.47 lac. The Buyer company having rank 2nd which total sale of Rs. 61.99 lac
 Data shows that market potential of insecticide used in cotton crop of Syngenta and Dupond company was same in all blocks and market potential of Buyer and Insecticide India limited (insecticide) was also same in the all block as due to recommended dose and area of cotton crop
 Total 21945.9 liter quantity of insecticide is needed in selected block of Amravati district, if only Insecticide India ltd. will supply the insecticide the study area.
 Findings shows that there was more than 80 per cent gap between market potential and actual quantity sale of Insecticide India ltd. was observed in all the selected block which indicated that there is much scope to increase the sale quantity of insecticide of Insecticide India ltd. company in the study area.
 Information shows that small size group farmer generally consider the prize factor when they purchase insecticide while majority of medium and large size group farmer, mostly given the preference to quality, company brand name and effectiveness of the product (insecticide).
 The Insecticide India Limited company has adopted following promotional activities like magazines, hoarding, tour and campaining in the study area.

Hence it is suggested that.
 To increase the sales promotional activity in the study area which will be helpful to increase the market share of Insecticide India Limited.
 To increase the price the product by the company.
 To increase the employee in the company for proper dealing.
 To maintain the good relation between the distributor, dealer and the farmer in the study area.
 To provide the complete information of the company product to the farmer, distributor and dealers then it wil also help to increase the sale quantity of different insecticide in the study area.
 To provide some incentive in the form of gift, cash coupon and arrange the tour package to the distributor and dealers.
