Description |
Cyromazine (N-cyclopropyl-1, 3,5-triazine- 2,4,6 triamine) having insect growth inhibiting properties was evaluated against Musca domestica by in vitro methods. A 1 % premix formulation of this compound was incorporated in different concentration viz., 0.025, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2 and 0.25% into larval medium and then the larvae were seeded into this. Concentrations of 0.025, 0.05 and 0.1% produced at least 40–78% inhibition of fly emergence while 89 and 90 % inhibition was obtained at concentration of 0.2 and 0.25%, respectively. The effects of cyromazine remain persisted beyond 25 days in the larval medium. |
