Description |
The present investigation entitled “studies on Choanephora Leaf Blight (Choanephora infundibulifera (curry) Sacc.) of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill)” was carried out at the Department of Plant Pathology, IGKV, Raipur (C.G.). . Isolation of the pathogen was done from the leaf, isolated culture was maintained and proved Koch‟s postulates. Typical symptom developed on leaf, petioles and pod. Studies on the effect of different PH, media, temperature and colors of light on the radial growth and sporulation of pathogen were carried out. The suitable PH for mycelial growth of C.infundibulifera was at PH 4.5.Out of eight media, maximum radial growth was recorded in PDA followed by Kerr‟s medium. and 300c temperature and green color of light is suitable for growth of pathogen. Maximum degradation of CMC (90.17%) and pectin (91.56%) were found at 4.0 and 7.0 PH repectively by the culture filtrate of pathogen. The minimum seed germination (27%) and maximum seed mortality were (100%) observed in seed + blotter treated with culture filtrate. The 100 % pure concentration of culture filtrate was most effective for macerating of vegetable of potato, carrot and pumpkin pith. When use of culture filtrate in attached leaf of soybean 1st pin head symptom started after 5 days. Leaf scratch method was most suitable for disease development. Out of fourteen medicinal plant leaf extract, Citrus and Eucalyptus inhibited significantly the radial growth of C.infundibulifera.. Complete inhibition of radial growth of C.infundibulifera was observed with M2 and Sixer in-vitro evaluation of fungicides.Out of 66 varieties of soybean screened, 7 varieties showed Absolutly resistant, 43 were Highly resistant and 16 were found Moderately resistant.
