Description |
The present investigation entitled “Physiological manipulations for yield enhancement in Mungbean (Vigna radiata L. Wilczek).” was conducted at Research cum Instructional Farm, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G.), during Kharif 2015. The experimental material comprised of two mungbean genotypes (Pusa Vishal, Malviya Jyoti) and five treatments (40ppm NAA, combination of NAA 40ppm+zinc 300ppm, 300ppm zinc, 5% cow urine, and control). The experimental material was grown in Split Plot Design in three replications. Observation on Morpho-Physiological, Phenological, biochemical and yield determinants were recorded tabulated and analyzed stastiscally. The results recorded that variety V1 (Pusa Vishal), and application of NAA 40ppm which in produced morphological traits (viz. plant height, number of leaves), phonological (days to first flowering, days to 50% flowering, number of flower plant-1, number of flower drop plant-1), observed under treatment T2 combination of NAA 40ppm+zinc 300ppm, growth parameters (leaf area, index, leaf area duration, crop growth rate, relative growth rate, specific leaf area, specific leaf weight), as well as physiological and biochemical parameters (chlorophyll content and protein content), mungbean crop. Applied NAA 40ppm+zinc 300ppm results better growth and yield attributes which in treatment produced the maximum yield (14.43 q.), having significant superior over all other treatments. Correlation results clearly indicated that yield exhibited highly and positive significant association with (Plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, number of flower per plant, pod length, seed per pod, 100 seed weight, protein content, and harvest index). Which regression analysis should be highly and positive relationship of (Number of leaves, Number of flower per plant, seed per pod, protein content). Which Path coefficient analysis should be highly and direct and indirect significant with (number of leaves, leaf area, SPAD-502 value, number of flower per plant, seed per pod, 100 seed weight, and protein content). Between the varieties Pusa Vishal showed the best performance on above parameters. The interaction effect between varieties and treatments of mungbean on almost all the parameters not statistically significant. The experimental results indicated variations in respect of mungbean varieties to different plant growth regulator and micronutrient and suggested that combination of (NAA 40ppm+zinc 300ppm) may be judicious dose under field conditions. |
