Fourty one elite lines of lentil were characterized using 34 SSR markers. The studied markers amplified 198 band, LENT 8 amplified maximum 13 bands. The PIC value ranged from 0.492 to 0.855. The resolving power ranged from 1.951 to 2.439 and marker index ranged from 1.923 to 10.169. Based on UPGMA the studied genotypes were grouped in two major clusters. The clustering pattern indicates adequate variability in studied lines. Based on clusters nine crosses were suggested forhybridization purpose for obtaining the transgressive segregants.Further broadening using wild speiec, ICARDA improved germplasm and Mediterranean land races is suggested, |
