Description |
Canine ehrlichiosis was successfully transmitted in 3 Beagles by intravenous inoculation of infective blood. The clinical signs were fever, anorexia, conjunctivities and emaciation. The haemogram revealed severe anaemia, thrombocytopenia, leukopaenia and marked increase in ESR. The consistent gross lesions were haemorrhages in various organs. Liver sections revealed the presence of parasites in the cytoplasm of swollen endothelial cells.
