Despite considerable increases in productivity, Indian livestock survive mostly on feed and fodder obtained from wastelands, forest cover, common property resources and crop residues. Considering the lack of estimate on feeds and fodder availability in Tamil Nadu, a study was made to assess the status of green fodder availability for livestock in the State.
