Description Salivary mucocele (Ranula) is a collection of mucoid saliva that has leaked from a damaged salivary gland and the sublingual gland is most frequently affected (Harvey, 1993). The incidence of salivary mucocele in the dogs is less than 0.5% and it occurs most often in the dogs between 2 and 4 years of age (Safzadeh, 2004). The occurrence of disorders of the salivary glands in young dogs is rare (Hoskins, 2001). The present
report records the sublingual mucocele in a 6 months old pup and its successful surgical
management.
