Description |
Mycotoxins are toxic metabolites produced by fungi in feeds. We studied the occurrence of different type of mycotoxins (Aflatoxin B1, B2, G1, G2, Ochratoxin and Ctirinin) in different type of raw materials used to prepare the Livestock feeds. The samples were analyzed by two dimensional semi quantitative thin layer chromatography for the presence of Aflatoxin, Orchratoxin and Citrinin. 98.4% of Maize, 100% of Cumbu, 67.31% of Soyabean meal, 94.12% of SFDOC, 97.37% of GNC and 95.4% of DORB samples were found positive for aflatoxin B1. Incidence of occurrence of ochratoxin was higher in SFDOC (58.82%).
