Marek's Disease (MD) - a lymphoproliferative disorder of chicken is caused by cell-associated herpes virus with lymphotrophic properties and characterized by mononuclear cell infiltration of peripheral nervous system and visceral organs with varying rate of mortality depending upon the strain of virus and genetic constitution of chickens. This communication deals an outbreak of MD in a desi farm among 18 week old desi chicken with high mortality rate based on postmortem examination, farm visit and data gathered from that farm.
