Description |
Dogs brought to the Small Animal Clinic Outpatient Medicine Ward of Madras Veterinary College Teaching Hospital were screened for the signs of Urinary Tract Infection (UTI). Dogs showing signs of stranguria, pollakuria, and hematuria were taken up for the study. Ten dogs were diagnosed as UTI based on the clinicopathologic investigations. Blood samples were collected for hematology and serum biochemistry. Urinalysis and culture and sensitivity of aseptically collected urine were undertaken as per standard techniques. The affected dogs were treated with Ceftriaxone with Tazobactum @ 20 mg/kg b.wt. bid iv for 7 days.
