The experiment was laid out in randomized block design with three replications and thirteen treatments. The results of the present study regarding the effect of different treatment GA3 and NAA on growth characters, floral characters, fruit properties, yield and quality attributes have been summarized. From the results obtained during the present investigation with different treatment of GA3 and NAA on vegetative growth, flowering, yield and quality of strawberry cv. Chandler, it is concluded that plants treated with GA3 75 ppm significantly increased the height of plant, plant spread, number of leaves, leaf area per plant, duration of harvesting, days taken to first flower, number of flowers, days taken to fruit set, fruit number and fruit yield per plant, whereas plants treated with GA3 100 ppm recorded maximum length, width, fruit set per plant and volume of strawberry fruits. So far as the yield of strawberry fruits are concerned GA3 75 ppm treated plants produced higher yield. TSS of GA3 50 ppm was higher as compared to other treatments. Total sugar of fruits treated with NAA 60 ppm were higher than the other treatments. Minimum titrable acidity were recorded in plants treated with NAA 60 ppm, whereas, the maximum titrable acidity were recorded in plants treated with GA3 100 ppm. Maximum Ascorbic acid content was recorded in plants treated with GA3 75 ppm. . On the basis of the above findings it may be concluded that for getting substantial higher yield of quality berries with more propagating materials, the plants of strawberry should be treated with GA3 75 ppm in the plains of Uttar Pradesh, India. |
