Description .ยท\bsrracr. The effects of llA. ethcphon, and GA j on freshly harvested cormels of three cultivars ,)fGladiull:s sp, were studied for 3 years, The treatment with 400 mg-L:' cthephon signilicantly reduced the dormancy period by 17.5 days as compared to control, while llA and GA) were found to he less effective. Among all treatments. ethepon at ..00 mg-L:' was fuund to he the most effective in altering the days to sprout. sproutlng percentage, corm size and production and development of corrnels. While GAj at lOO mg-L:' increased ~ro"th ofcorms and curmels.llA at 25 mg-L:" increased growth of corms and cormels,llA at 25 Illl!'1,-I only influenced the ~pnl!lling percentage of corrncls. Along with reducing Ihe dorrnuncy period, the plant growth regulators stimulated growth and development of corms and corrncls. Ch ernical nn rues used: bcnzyladenine (BA): 2-dlloroethylphosph'll1ic
acid (cthephon}: gibberellic acid (GAj ).
