| Description |
The sediment coverage in the Carlsberg Ridge is similar in appearance to those in the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. The Carlsberg Ridge sediments show that their sources are continental, biogenic and diagenetic. The sedimentation rate determined by Th232 decay is 3 cm/ ka. The sediments are dominant in CaCO3 % and illite mineral, and low Cu, Fe and Mn %. They do not show enrichment of Fe, Mn and magnetic susceptibility.
