Description Wave conditions and the nature of sediment transport in the Mormugao Harbour area have been evaluated in view of the proposed development project of this harbour It has been found from this study that generally high waves will be experienced in this area from S.W to west, particularly from W.S.W during the south-west monsoon season Minimum wave heights have been found just north of the present breakwater and maximum wave heights have been found near Dona Paula and Cabo regions The off-shore sediment movement appears to be directed towards north or north-west due to the combined influence of currents and waves Littoral drift has been found to be directed into the Mormugao Bay both from its northern and southern sides
