Description The mangrove vegetation spread over 0.35 million hactares accounts for less than 1/10th of the extensive coastal ecosystems of India. It's an experience that the coastal ecosystems which are intricately diverse are equally high productive biotopes accounting for 60% of the world's seafood production, through capture and culture fisheries. This paper presents the state of the art and prospects for aquaculture in mangrove ecosystems of India
