Description An analysis of thermal Structure in the East Central Arabian Sea associated with a moderate cyclone is presented. The heat storage and the heat budget components have been computed. Under the influence of the cyclone the Sea Surface Temperature (SST) decreased by 1.2 degrees C. The study has revealed that the lowering of SST was primarily due to the downward heat flux (58%) and secondarily due to the evaporative cooling (33%). The fluxes of sensible heat and effective back radiation across the sea surface account for only 9% of the total loss from the surface layer
