Distribution pattern of heterotrophic bacterial flora of three sandy beaches of the west coast of India was studied. The population in these beaches was microbiologically different. Population peaks of halotolerant and limnotolerant forms were attained at different magnitude in different months. Influence of environmental factors on the bacterial distribution are discussed
