Description It is well known that remote sensing is the only non-destructive method of earth's exploration. Archaeologists particular can not preserve a site as well as study it through ground-based methods. The aim of the present paper is to familiarize archaeologists with new trends in remote sensing with their possible implications for archaeological exploration. Though remote sensing can not completely replace ground-based exploration, it can do away with a lot of laborious and destructive groundwork by the methods discussed in this paper
