Description |
Principal component analysis (PCA) has been applied to the fed-batch fermentative production of recombinant beta-galactosidase to analyse the effect of inflow disturbances. Although the full model has nine time-dependent variables, PCA shows that five are sufficient to provide a good description of bioreactor dynamics for bath smooth and disturbed operations. The variables identified are physically plausible, and the reduced model predicts the original data with 95 % accuracy.
