Pea (Pisum sativum L.) is one of the important legume crop and ranks third in production among the legumes and consumed either as a fresh succulent vegetable or as dried pulse. It is one of the principle vegetable crop of temperate and sub-tropical areas of the world. Besides being a rich source of health building substances such as protein, vitamins, minerals and also lysine, the limiting essential aminoacid in cereals, it plays an important role in economy of growers.
