Ths Kangra district in Himaehal Pradesh lies bebeen 31deg t o 32'59' N latitude and 75deg to 77deg 45'E longilude. The rainfall in the district varies beheen 100 cm to 250 on as one moves from south to north. About 80 par cent of this, rain is received during the period from mid June to mid September, The topography 09 the district is complex having steep valleys, mountaneous and gently eloping uplands with m elevation ranging from 900-5O00 metres above mean sea level.
