| Description |
The cabbage semilooper, Thysanoplusia orichalcea (Fabr.) (Lepidoptera:Noctuidac) is a polyphagous insect which has a worldwide distribution. It has been reported to be a common pest of varying severity on a number of crops - pulses, cereals and vegetables in Europe (Spain, Belgium, etc.), Asia (India, Pakistan, Japan, etc.), Africa (Zimbabwe and Egypt), USA and New Zealand (Anonymous, 1986). In India, it has been reported from a number of states such as Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, etc. besides Himachal Pradesh.
